BOOKING AND PRICES

Q.  How far in advance should we book?

A.  Our cars are popular so we would always advise booking well in advance where possible.  Summer weekends are most in demand and we would advise booking up to 12 months ahead to be sure.

Q.  Can we view a car before we decide to book?

A.  We strongly recommend this. Getting the feel of the car will prevent any disappointments on the day, and will ensure the car is absolutely right for you.  We would also advise brides with elaborate gowns to consider rehearsing getting in and out of the car - this does not have to be done wearing the dress, but it can help to prevent slips or unfortunate photographs on the day.

Q. Can we make provisional bookings on the phone?  When is the full amount due?

A.  Yes, we take phone bookings.  Once you make a provisional booking, we ask for a non-refundable deposit of £50.  We will hold the booking for a period of 10 days, but if the deposit is not paid during this time we will release the booking for other clients.  The balance is due 6 weeks before the wedding - this period is necessary to allow us to offer the booking for other clients in the event of cancellation.  We regret that if the balance is not paid in full by this time the booking will lapse.

Q.  Do you accept credit cards?

A. We ask for payment by cheque, cash or bank transfer.  This helps to keep costs down.

Q.  Can we pay in cash on the day?

A.   Unfortunately not.  Balances must be paid in full 6 weeks before the wedding.

Q.  Do your prices include VAT?

A.  We do not charge VAT.

ON THE DAY

Q.  How long will we have the car for on our wedding day?

A. There is no time limit; the car will generally be with you for as long as you need it (within reason of course!).  We normally expect to be with you for about 3 hours. Extended times can be considered, but only if we are notified during the planning stage; our drivers are not authorised to accept additional tasks on the day.

Q. Can we use the car to take the bride's mother and bridesmaids to the ceremony first?

A. Yes, but do see our wedding guide first, as this can often be problematic.

Q.  Can we get extra people in the car if necessary?

A.   Yes, but only up to the maximum seating capacity of the car. We will not exceed the maximum seating capacity under any circumstances, as this would be illegal and invalidate our insurance.

Q. Will the car be booked for other weddings on the same day?

A.  No - each car will only do one wedding per day.

Q.  Can we change the itinerary on the day?

A.  Within reason, of course - we are here to provide you with the service you want.  However, we do insist that this be with the agreement of the driver - his decision is final.

Q.  Can we take young children in the car?

A.  Yes, but this is a tricky area and needs to be agreed in advance. Since September 2006 it is compulsory by law for children under 12 years of age to use the correct child seat or booster cushion.  We are legally responsible for ensuring children are properly restrained in our cars. Please be guided by the following rules:
* Children under 12 years may only be carried when the correct 'Child Restraint' as required by law is used. 'Child Restraint' means the correct seat, baby seat or booster cushion for your child, as provided by you.  We do not provide this equipment.
* For those cars legally exempt from having seat belts fitted (normally due to the car's age) the law permits children of 3 years and older to travel in the back seats without using the correct child restraint
* Children under 3 cannot be carried in any car unless seated in the correct Child Restraint.  As Child Restraints can only be used in vehicles that have seatbelts, unfortunately this means that children up to the age of three requiring Child Restraints can no longer travel in cars that do not have seatbelts fitted.
* As the driver is legally responsible for the safety of all passengers in the car, the transport of children in the car MUST BE AGREED IN ADVANCE.  The driver is not permitted to agree any changes on the day.  Of course, this does not prevent children having their photographs taken in the car at any venue whilst it is not moving.

Q.  Can you provide onward transport to the airport or our honeymoon location?

A.  Regrettably we do not include this in our service.
